Shingle Style Barn and Poolhouse in Pasadena
This beautiful turn of the century Shingle Style Residence sits on a large gently sloping lot in Pasadena. Though filled with historical charm and details, the residence and property was in need of some updating with modern conveniences. In addition to remodeling and adding a kitchen and entertainment deck to the main residence, we added a Pool, a Pool House, a Trellis, outdoor Entertaining areas, and a proper Garage with a large storage loft. We also updated the interiors of many existing rooms including the front covered patio. On the exterior, shingled gambrell roof lines, a combination of board and batten and shingle siding, take their cues from the existing materials on the historical main residence. Inside, simply cut and detailed cedar siding and trims bridge both historical detailing and a modern industrial aesthetic. Ceiling trusses, a concrete fireplace, and modern furnishings enhance this crossover. Custom made bunkbeds allow for kids sleepovers, while the schoolhouse sink, steel and glass interior shower, barn style exterior shower and large pocketing sliding French doors enhance the barns flexibility during summer parties.
